“I am a child of the sixties, and I do not go into that dark night, quietly,” I recently told a friend.

I have been somewhat lost since losing my husband, who was my rock….my anchor, and who kept me upright. Additionally, since their father passed away, I have one son who has been in a tailspin and the other doesn’t speak to me.  So, describing my emotional life as having been in somewhat of a fracas is an understatement.

I have blessings though. I am not destitute and I have good health and music is healing me.

“Get ready, I am champion and you’re gonna hear me roar.”

So, what does Katy Perry’s ROAR have to do with me being a child of the sixties and recovering my equilibrium?

Well, I’ve been knitting my politics and sending hats to women who are gathering and that is a very empowering activity.

“Hear me roar.”
